Kicking back in Antarctica
Kicking back in Antarctica

After several days of sailing we finally arrived at Paradise Harbor where  the Argentinean base Brown is located. Even though the base was closed I saw a tiny construction over a snout of 230 feet at Sanaviron peninsula.

This is one of the most beautiful places I ever saw in Antarctica. There are plenty of icebergs & huge masses of ice that I was able to watch closely during my trip over the “Zodiac”, that Darrel invited me to join.

As soon as we got off the ship, we boarded the“Zodiac”, handling our cameras and sailing over the pacific, which was calm and quiet as glass. We were admiring the surroundings meanwhile everything around us was silence and peace. Every iceberg is a single piece, standing strong and fragile at the same time. Liters of frozen water shaping both rounded and straight lines.

I am an artist not a scientist, I don’t try to understand the chemistry or the composition and origin of all this.

I just try to flow with the sea and it really feels like if Goddess, Constructors and Cookers, would have decorated this spot of our planet. My eyes got overwhelmed with such beauty and immensity.

Looking up at the blue sky, white clouds seem to be made of cotton and crazy brush strokes. At my side, an iceberg seems to be made of ice cream. Looking forward, another iceberg looks like a modern building almost ready to fall apart. There is so much more! Plenty of white frozen surfaces, some of them with blue and green shadows, depending on how the sun reflects over them.

Suddenly, we hear a strong and furious noise coming from a distance: an iceberg is falling apart, melting and dying smoothly into transparent waters . While looking back to my astonished and happy expressions; No doubt, I am in Antarctica!
